Eglin Air Force Base CCSS
IIa's staff working at Eglin Air Force Base on the Combined Customer
Support Services contract provides base education and training, and personnel
support services to the more than 12,000 military and civilian employees
at Eglin AFB, including Base Enlisted Specialty Training (BEST), personnel
systems management, distance learning, education services, civilian employee
development and training, military formal training, awards and decorations,
and military records.
Our 23 Eglin staff members are located in three separate buildings on
base. Steve Gardner, our Project Manager, says the records section in
the Military Personnel Flight has been very affected by the deployments
to Iraq. Their workload has significantly increased as they are responsible
for helping members update their Emergency Data Forms, which all troops
being deployed are required to review before being deployed. These forms
are critical in that the Air Force uses this information to notify the
appropriate family members in the event of a death or serious injury.
Our staff is responsible for making all changes to these forms.
In addition to managing these types of records, IIa staff members
- conduct staff assistance visits to all units on base enlisted training.
- provide on-base testing.
- counsel military personnel on tuition assistance and officer commissioning
programs.
- manage the personnel computer system for all military personnel.
- schedule and oversee onsite training for base personnel.
- process paperwork for all personnel's offsite training.
- maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records pertaining to
education, training, and military personnel areas.
- process and update all awards and decorations for base personnel.
- partner with the Air Force to ensure that personnel have the training
required to meet both the base and Air Force missions.
Each IIa CCSS staff member is aware that customer satisfaction is the
most important aspect of his or her job; we strive for accuracy, completeness,
timeliness, and good humor in our day to day operations. After less than
nine months of partnering with the Education and Training Flight personnel,
Eglin was named Best Education Center in Air Force Materiel Command.
