Professional Recognitions

KUDOS:

Promoted: Linda Blanchard

Linda Blanchard is an IIa success story! She came to work for IIa at the Base Library at Patrick Air Force Base in 1999 as a library technician. Prior to that, Linda had worked in the information field as a library assistant, law library assistant, and a law librarian. In April 2000, Linda was promoted to the position of reference librarian at the Patrick Library.

While at Patrick, Linda decided to return to school to attain her masters degree. Taking advantage of IIa's Educational Assistance Program, she started her degree work in (year). In the spring of 2002, Linda attained her Masters of Library Science from Florida State University.

Now fully credentialed, Linda received another promotion. Last month, she moved to Virginia to serve as the Library Director for the Bateman Library at Langley Air Force Base.

On the Personal Side

Personal/Professional Development:

Kathryn Johnson, corporate Project Administration Specialist, is scheduled to receive her Associate of Science degree from Roane State Community College this month. She plans to continue with her education pursuing a bachelor's degree at the University of Tennessee.

Wedding Bells:

Heather Coleman, Acquisitions Librarian at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center library, is hearing wedding bells. She and new fiancée Mark F. Arbeen have set August 30, 2003 as their wedding date. Mark is a contracts administrator for System Planning Corporation, in Arlington, VA. He lives in Annandale, VA, but is originally from from River Forest, IL. Heather is a Virginia native.
