Congratulations to Clare Creeger, library assistant, who was awarded the Superior Performer Award by the Air Combat Command 2005 Major General Eugene L. Eubank Excellence Award Evaluation Team. Creeger was cited for her knowledge and enthusiasm in presenting the library program to the team.

Nikkia Anderson, computer programmer, and former IIa employee Andrea Japzon have received notice that their paper, “"Wallops Island Balloon Technology: Can't see the Repository for the Documents” will be published in the Summer 2005, Vol.1, Issue 2 of The Grey Journal: An International Journal on Grey Literature. The paper was presented at the Sixth International Conference on Grey Literature in New York City on December 6, 2004.

Family News

Family Members In the Mideast

Capt. Vincent Bellucci, Alabama National Guard (brother of Barksdale's Anthony Bellucci) is in Iraq with an Engineering Battalion.

Timothy Sean Joyce (son of AEDC's Betty Joyce) is a civilian serving in Kuwait for DoD. He served in the Army for 12 years prior to working as a DoD civilian.

Staff Sargent Steven Beams (son of corporate's Cheryl Beams) is serving his second tour of duty in Iraq.

Yes, a third baby in almost as many months at the corporate office! In April, Shelaine Curd-Hetrick, biodiversity and ecosystem informatics specialist, and husband Jon welcomed a daughter, Laurel Lynne Hetrick, their first child.
(Note: That's two girls and one boy, if you are keeping track.)

Sabrina Butler (daughter of Eva Butler) received the 2005 President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence for 2005 from President George W. Bush.

Colton Carroll (son of Gay Carroll) graduated from Anderson County High School with distinction.

At the completion of his freshman year at Choctawhatchee H.S, Jordan Bare (son of Carol Scott) was accepted into National Beta Club, a national service organization.

Angela Michael (daughter of Delynn Roberts) received her masters degree in library science from Florida State University in May.

Kirtland Library

Sean Mettler (son of Julie Mettler) received his B.S. in business administration in May from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
