IIa Corporate Donation Guidelines
1. Statement of Policy
Information International Associates values its role as a corporate citizen of the communities in which it operates. We have established the goal of making corporate investments in the communities where the company has substantial numbers of active and potential employees living and working. IIa investments reflect the tenets of its corporate mission statement, partnering to apply innovative solutions to community needs.
2. Funding
IIa annually sets apart a portion of the company’s earnings for community investment. We reallocate the annual amount each fiscal year and review it quarterly against the company’s financial performance. We may also consider in-kind donations, as appropriate.
3. Areas of Corporate Focus
- Literacy
- Lifelong learning
- Other civic, cultural, professional, health and welfare, and public awareness activities related to IIa’s mission, corporate objectives, and culture
4. Guidelines
IIa makes contributions to
- Tax-exempt, non-profit organizations as defined under Sections (501)(c)(3).
- Groups without political or religious affiliation.
- Organizations that promote IIa’s areas of corporate focus and have broad appeal among its personnel and their communities, to the extent possible.
IIa does not provide contributions for:
- Individuals, including support for specific causes when the individual is not an employee of IIa and formally representing the company.
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.
- Medical research projects or medical procedures for individuals.
- Professional schools of art, academic art programs, performing groups of individual high schools or colleges.
- Political or lobbying groups or campaigns.
- Fraternal organizations, veterans’ organizations, and similar membership groups.
- Public or commercial broadcasting programs.
- Religious activities or church-sponsored programs limited to church membership.
- Debt-reduction campaigns.
[Note: in-kind donations (use of space, employee time, etc.) will follow these same guidelines.]
5. Process
All donation solicitations are routed through community relations as a part of corporate communications. Requests must be in writing and include the following information:
- Name of requesting organization
- Date of request
- Organizational contact person and contact information
- Amount/in-kind service requested
- Date donation needed
- Date response needed
- Any other deadlines or instructions for payment associated with request
All organizations to whom IIa makes a donation are required to provide written confirmation of the agreed donation amount and a written receipt of the contribution.
