Business Tennessee Fast50
Recognizes Tennessee's
Fastest Growing Private Companies
NASHVILLE – Business Tennessee, the state's business
and political monthly magazine, has released its first Business Tennessee
Fast50 ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in Tennessee.
The list appears in the December 2004 issue of Business Tennessee,
which will be received by subscribers beginning the end of November
and will be available on newsstands shortly thereafter.
Information International Associates (IIa), a woman-owned, small
business based in Oak Ridge, is included on the inaugural Fast50.
IIa provides information management, systems, and technology services
to the government, industry, non-profit and academic organizations,
and international entities.
The 50 companies on average experienced a doubling of revenue in
their most recent fiscal years, generating an aggregate top line
of $1.4 billion. Together, these businesses employ nearly 19,000
people, many of whom work and live in Tennessee.
"The 50 companies selected in the first Business Tennessee
Fast50 feature reflect extremely well on Tennessee and the entrepreneurial
talent that resides here," said David A. Fox, editor of Business
Tennessee magazine. "They testify to their entrepreneurs' creativity,
to the state's business diversity and to Tennessee's healthy climate
for business."
The 50 are a diverse group. Among the honorees are manufacturers
of auditing software, storm water barriers, digital video content
and pizzas, as well as providers of renal dialysis, investment performance
scoring, health insurance benefits, health care and railroad repair
services.
To be considered, Fast50 nominees must have been in business for at least three
years, generate more than $750,000 of revenue, employ five or more people,
be independent and privately owned (not publicly traded or a subsidiary) and
be headquartered in Tennessee.
Business Tennessee is a statewide monthly magazine covering business
and politics and received by 44,000 business and civic leaders in
Tennessee.
