Share-A-Meal Raises $280 for Second Harvest
Oak Ridge, TN. For the third year
in a row, staff of Information International Associates (IIa) and
their families have enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal together and raised
$280 for Second Harvest Food Bank
in the process. The event was held Monday, November 22nd at the
IIa-managed Department of Energy Information Center.
IIa launched this now annual event in 2002, raising
$120 in that first year and growing the event to this year’s
$280 dollar contribution. The company provides the traditional
turkey as well as drinks for the event and staff members cook and
bring the rest of the meal, everything from broccoli casserole
and Tunisian carrots
to banana pudding and pecan pie. Each person who then partakes
of the meal makes a $5 donation to Second Harvest.
Founded in Oak Ridge in 1988 by Bonnie C. Carroll,
IIa has a world-class reputation in scientific and technical information
(STI) services, national and international information policy and
standards development, library and information center management,
intelligence work, and base operations support services. In March
2004, Federal Computer Week named Carroll one of the top 100 information
technology professionals in America.
